Fusarium oxysporum is a fungal plant pathogen that causes wilting in wide variety of crops. It is a a hard pathogen to deal with because of very long-term survival skills on the deep ground. This pathogen can be observed in many different plant species such as cotton, tobacco, bananas, coffee, sugar cane, tomatoes, chickpeas etc. This fungus spreads by infected tools, water, infected seeds and soil. The leaves of the infected plant usually turn yellow and wilt on one side. If fungus reaches to the vessels, the plant secretes gum as immune response then fungus spores and mycelium cause blokage on vascular tissue. It is why the plants get wilt when they are infected.
