Prune Dwarf Ilarvirus (PDV00), known as Prune Dwarf Virus, is a member of the Bromoviridae family, Ilarvirus genus. The hosts of virus are peach, sweet and sour cherry, plum, apricot and almond. Although the symptoms change due to climate, humidity and infected species, the most common symptoms are stunting of the tree, necrosis, and chlorosis, green foliage, rosette formation in developing shoots, shortened internodes, and reduction in fruit growth and yield. The modes of transmission are through pollen, seed, and vegetative propagation (grafting and budding). Especially in cherry orchards, the pollen transmission may cause very fast spreading and gives huge economic loss.
