Andean potato latent virus (APLV) is a plant pathogenic virus belonging to the genus Tymovirus in the family Tymoviridae. It is a positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus primarily infecting potato crops (Solanum tuberosum) in the Andean regions of South America. As the name suggests, infections are often latent or asymptomatic in many potato cultivars; however, in susceptible varieties or under mixed infection conditions with other potato viruses, it can cause symptoms ranging from mild mottle and mosaic to severe chlorosis and plant stunting.
