Cherry leaf roll virus (CLRV) is a highly significant plant pathogenic virus belonging to the genus Nepovirus in the family Secoviridae. It affects a broad range of woody hosts, most notably cherry (Prunus avium) and walnut (Juglans regia). As a quarantine-relevant pathogen, CLRV is responsible for systemic decline, characterized by leaf rolling, chlorosis, and the development of severe “blackline” disease at graft unions, eventually leading to tree death.
