Tomato mottle mosaic virüs Tobamovirus genus of the Virgoviridae family. This virus was first described in 2013 infecting tomato crops in Mexico. It was subsequently found in the Americas, Asia and Europe causing infections on tomato and capsicum crops. Shows similarities with ToBRFV. Studies show that it is highly contagious. Tomatoes infected with ToMMV are stunted and show severe mosaic symptoms and leaf deformation. genome sequence analysis found ToMMV with 80% nucleotide sequence identity to TMV and classified it as a separate virus strain with 85% ToMV.
