Its genome consists of a single-stranded, positive-sense RNA. The virus causes severe economic losses in cucumber, melon, watermelon, and other cucurbit crops worldwide. Characteristic symptoms include chlorotic mottling on leaves, fruit discoloration and distortion, stunted growth, and significant yield reduction.
