Pear Blister Canker Viroid (PBCVD0) is a member of Pospiviroidae family that causes pear canker disease on pear species. Its genome consists of 315-316 nucleotides RNA. The symptom of this viroid is seen on branches, stems and bark. There are surface deformations, blisters, or scaly cankers on body parts of plant. The leaves and fruits of infected plant has usually no visible symptoms. The mode of transmission is via mechanical inoculation from infected equipment or graft. Animal vectors, seeds or pollen transmission is not reported in literature.
